This project aims to create a website design for the graphic designer Bradbury Thompson. The primary purpose of this website design is to create a site for Bradbury Thompson, who does not have a pre-existing site. The secondary purpose is to inform the audience about Thompson’s life, career, and display the variety of works he created in his lifetime. The website was created with the intentions of everyone being the audience. The website design allows individuals who are already aware of Thompson, and other individuals that are new and interested in his designs, or are seeking inspiration a way to learn about him as well as view his works all in one place. 

The visual identity of the website references a similar type used by Bradbury Thompson in his works. The imagery, specifically in the background, is a personal take on Thompson’s use of color and type that still reflects his methods of color and type scaling. 

The affordances in this website are simple but useful throughout each page. Each page consists of a menu and a footer to help navigate around the site. The designs are also an affordance as each design on the top and bottom also directs the viewer from the top of the page down and back up. The signifiers include small interactions with buttons that change color or have an  underline. This shows the viewer what is clickable and creates an intuitive layout as they explore deeper into the website. 

The feedback for the website consists of buttons that change color in hover states such as the images changing from black and white to color as well as the clickable tabs having an underline when hovering. The menu and the footer both utilize the underline hover state. All of this feedback helps the viewer know when a button can be and has been clicked. 

The discoverability in this website is very effective because of each element that has been added to the website inorder to create a user friendly layout. Navigating through each page is clear and only takes one to two clicks to get to or back from a certain page. 

The website for Bradbury Thompson was created using Figma. It is fully responsive across website, tablet, and mobile platforms because of the layout design using breakpoints.
